The Generalized Favard Problem
Abstract
The present paper deals with a geometrical optimization problem
for isoperimetric plane sets contained in a circular sector. For a circle,
this problem was solved by J.~M.~Favard. To obtain structural
statements methods of distributional optimal control and constrained
optimization are used. With respect to sector angles and perimeter length
the optimal value function is discussed and the complete solution is founded.
