  • Abstract
Celebration of The International Year of Statistics was the main reason to organizing the meeting “Statistics in Research vs. Research in Statistics” at the University of the Basque Country UPV/EHU on 2013 October 9th. The goal was to meet statisticians and statistical users from other scientific areas and to discuss about the field. A main conference about training in statistics and career choices and a round table about statistical consulting were the main activities of the meeting. A poster session and a workshop about sample size completed the program and allowed for active participation of attendees. Participation rate was high, especially among students and researchers. The organizing committee and the participants were satisfied with the result. Discussion of the event was provided by 18 participants, individually or in group.
