Symmetric algebras and normal forms of third order ordinary differential equations

Abstract: Third order ordinary differential equations are classified according to the dimension and the structure of their symmetry algebra. We establish canonical forms of the generators and representatives for all third order ordinary differential equations possessing 4, 5, 6 or 7 independent symmetries.
