This special issue is dedicated to the intriguing ramifications of non-commutative algebra in probability, analysis and data science, as reflected in the following topics:

  • non-commutative probability theory,
  • stochastic processes on quantum groups,
  • signature methods in data science,
  • random matrices and their applications,
  • Hopf algebras in combinatorics and stochastic.

It is related to the conference held in honour of Michael Schürmann on the occasion of the retirement from his professorship at the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Greifswald, Germany. The conference took place at the Alfried Krupp Wissenschaftskolleg in Greifswald, from 20–25 September, 2021.

The speakers and participants of the conference are invited to submit papers to the special issue.

We want to emphasise that all manuscripts in this special issue should be original, although exceptional survey articles will be considered.

There is no limit to the length of an article. Deadline for paper submission is March 28, 2022.

How to Submit an Article to the Issue.

All articles will go through the standard peer reviewing procedure of SIGMA.
