Preface
The 46th Meeting of the Séminaire
Lotharingien de Combinatoire took place from March 18 to March 21,
2001 at the Villemanzy Residential Center of Lyon.
In the heart of the city, this former convent dating from the 18th
Century offers a superb view over the Rhône and the whole
of the surrounding region from its
delightful position on the slopes of the Croix-Rousse.
All participants enjoyed the scientific program, the cultural atmosphere
and the fine meals of Lyon.
The main talks were given by
Meinolf GECK and Jean-Louis NICOLAS (Institut Girard Desargues, Lyon).
Both of them gave two lectures, on "Algebres de Hecke et cellules de
Kazhdan-Lusztig" and
"Partitions avec parts particulieres", respectively.
