Research
Masatsugu Nagata is working on surgery theory in geometric topology. Surgery theory is the basic tool to reduce geometric problems into algebraic and arithmetic problems. He is working on obstruction between equivariant surgery and isovariant surgery, in the hope of finding deeper connection between equivariant algebraic topology and geometric properties of manifolds with group action.
