Yoichiro Takahashi is working around stochastic analysis and dynamical systems, especially on those problems related to or originating in statistical physics, such as the Onsager-Machlup function or the Lagrangian for diffusion processes, chaotic behaviors of dynamical systems, random point fields consisting of the eigenvalues of random matrices and so on. The common key word is the large deviation. He is also interested in the asymptotic behavior of Wiener functionals and transformations on Wiener space. Some of his coworkers are interested in Gutzwiller formula and the spectrum of discrete Laplacians. Recently, he also studies time evolutions with/without remote past.
