Research
Takumi Yokota is working on the Ricci flow and the geometry of Alexandrov spaces, both of which are used extensively in Perelman's proof of the geometrization conjecture for 3-dimensional closed manifolds. In particular, he is interested in geometric aspects of these theories. Some of his results are gap theorems for ancient solutions to the Ricci flow and gradient shrinking Ricci solitons and a comparison theorem for the filling radius of Alexandrov spaces with a positive lower curvature bound.
