Postdoctoral researcher position in Kyoto

We have a postdoctoral position in Computability and Complexity Theory at the Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences (RIMS), Kyoto University, Japan. The position is for 12 months, with possible extension depending on funding availability. The starting date is flexible, between April–September 2021. The monthly salary is between 300000–380000 JPY depending on the candidate’s qualifications. There is no teaching load associated with the position.

The position is supported in part by KAKENHI grant 18H03203 “Computational Complexity of Continuous Systems” led by Akitoshi Kawamura, and thus some preference is given to research topics matching this theme, but we look more broadly for candidates working in the area of Computability or Computational Complexity. A new or recent PhD in mathematics or theoretical computer science is required.
