Announcement of Recruitment of a Project Assistant Professor

The Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences (RIMS) announces the recruitment of one Project Assistant Professor, whose appointment starts as early as possible on or after May 1, 2014 and ends on March 31, 2019 inclusive.
Each applicant must have obtained a Ph.D. by the starting date of the appointment, or must demonstrate comparable ability as a researcher.
Though strict restrictions are not put on the area of research, each applicant is expected to be able to participate in the research of quantum geometry.
The salary and fringe benefits are based on the salary regulations of the National University Corporation Kyoto University.

Promising researchers regardless of any nationality are encouraged to apply for the position. Selection will be made through screening of documents and possibly through interviews.
The following documents should preferably be sent as PDF files by email. They should be in Japanese or English on A4 or US letter format.
- Curriculum Vitae.
- List of publications.
- Copies of main articles.
- Summary of achievements and plans for future research of about 3 pages long in total.
- The names, affiliations, and email addresses of three researchers who are familiar with the applicant's research.
- One or more letters of reference by the people among the list above. Each letter of reference should be sent by the referee him/herself to the email account < rims.application[at]kurims.kyoto-u.ac.jp > and must be received by the deadline. (If a referee still prefers to send the letter of reference by mail, he/she should follow the instruction for application documents below.)
Application documents must be received by Monday, 10 March 2014, 17:00 (JST). Application documents will not be returned.
