Symmetry, Integrability and Geometry: Methods and Applications (SIGMA)

Special Issue on Symmetry, Invariants, and their Applications in honor of Peter J. Olver's 70th Birthday

The Guest Editors for this special issue are

Alex Bihlo (Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada)
Mark Fels (Utah State University, USA)
Irina Kogan (North Carolina State University, USA)
Robert Milson (Dalhousie University, Canada)
Francis Valiquette (Monmouth University, USA)

This special issue complements the conference Symmetry, Invariants, and their Applications: A Celebration of Peter J. Olver's 70th Birthday held at Dalhousie University, August 3–5, 2022. We welcome contributions related to Peter Olver's research expertise.

Topics include:

  • application of symmetry group methods to differential equations, difference equations, and other types of equations;
  • invariant theory, differential invariants, and generalizations;
  • moving frames and their applications;
  • equivalence problems;
  • invariant geometric flows and integrable systems;
  • application of Lie group methods to geometric numerical integration and computer vision.

There is no limit to the length of an article. Deadline for paper submission is July 31, 2023.

How to Submit an Article to the Issue.

All articles will go through the standard peer reviewing procedure of SIGMA.

If you have your paper ready earlier than the deadline, we encourage you to send it now. The reviewing process starts once the paper is submitted and we will publish the paper as soon as the positive publication decision is made. The paper will be indexed in the relevant databases as soon as it is published without waiting for completion of the special issue.
