公開国際会議「谷口数学講演会」

谷口財団数学部門が 1974 年以来開催して参りました谷口数学国際シンポジウム, 略して谷口シンポジウムは, 2000 年の財団解散を前に 1997 年に終了しました. 発足以来, 毎年１回, 1981 年以降は年２回のシンポジウムが開催され, 通算 41回の シンポジウムが開催されています. 本年 12 月には数学部門最後の記念事業として, 奈良で谷口財団数学部門・日本数学会共催の公開国際会議「 谷口数学講演会」を開催し, 過去のシンポジウムの参加者で国際的に活躍されている内外の数学者 20 名を講演者に招いて, 数学部門に有終の美を飾ることになりました. この公開国際会議は 数学部門責任者（伊藤清・村上信吾）の委嘱により構成された組織委員会が企画運営し、実行委員会が実施します. 以下, この講演会の概要を項目を挙げて示します.
