Some researchers are concerned with the impact factor of journals.
The impact factor for ETNA for last year is 1.261. This makes ETNA the 52nd highest ranked applied mathematics journal (out of 247). The impact factor measures the number of references to papers published in ETNA over the last 2 years in relation to the total number of papers published in ETNA over the same time period. The number of citation is not necessarily an appropriate measure of the quality of papers published in a journal. Moreover, we feel that the 2-year window is too short for mathematics. Many popular papers receive a large number of citations after they have been published for 2 years. Nevertheless, ETNA's impact factor has been monotonically increasing for the last few years.
ETNA is publishing a special volume associated with the Conference on Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computation with Applications (NASCA13), which was held in Calais in June this year. The editors for the special volume are Khalide Jbilou, Lothar Reichel, and Hassane Sadok. Please contact these editors for further information. ETNA now and then publishes special volumes associated with conferences or on a timely topic.
