Third China-Japan-Korea
Joint Probability Workshop
8-9 May 2025
Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences, Kyoto University
This RIMS workshop is intended to increase academic exchanges and foster possible collaborations in probability theory between China, Japan and Korea. Through lectures, discussions and a social gathering, participants will have opportunities to be inspired and interact with others. The event is part of a series that is planned to be held annually and rotate among the three countries. The first meeting was held in 2019 at the Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing, China, and, after a suspension caused by the outbreak of COVID-19, the second meeting was held in 2024 on Jeju island, Republic of Korea.

Registration
The registration form appears here. There is no registration deadline. However, we will close the registration form if the room capacity is reached. Moreover, in April, we plan to contact registered participants about a workshop dinner, which will be held on 8 May 2025. So, if you would like to attend that, please do not leave registration too late!
Access
All talks will take place in room 420 of RIMS. Access information for RIMS appears here.
Accommodation
There are not many hotels especially close to Kyoto University, but there are plenty in the more central areas of the city, from which it is easy to commute by bus. (See here for a city bus map.) In particular, if you book a hotel within (or close to) the region contained within the streets Marutamachi - Kawaramachi - Shijo - Karasuma (in the north, east, south, west, respectively), then there will be no problem in accessing the University. Concerning booking, probably the easiest is to use a general hotel booking website (such as booking.com or expedia, etc), but if you have specific questions, please do not hesitate to contact a member of the local organising committee.
Further Information
Those participating in a research activity at RIMS are asked to read its Code of Conduct carefully and understand how this applies to them. (Japanese version.)
Please see this page for information about RIMS' response to the novel coronavirus. (Japanese version.)
It is possible to arrange a temporary nursery place on campus during the research meeting for the use of researchers with children. For details, please contact one of the local organisers or the Cooperative Research Service Section at RIMS. [Note that, in order to make arrangements in time, you will need to request a space at least one month prior to the event.]
