Finished: Usage Restrictions Due to the Relocation of Journals (Jul. 7-8, 2026)
We will be open as usual on Wednesday, July 8.
On Tuesday, July 7, and Wednesday, July 8, we will be rearranging journal collections in the basement stacks and the open-shelf section on the third floor.
Due to this work, access to all materials in the library will be restricted.
If you wish to use the materials, please submit a reservation request in advance to place the items on holds.
We will inform you by email when the materials are ready. Please come to the library counter to pick them up.
*Depending on the timing of your request, it may take a little while to reserve the materials.

[How to Place Holds on Books]
There are two ways to apply. *The holding period is 7 days.
- Apply via KULINE
Choose the reservation type "Keep Order" after clicking the KULINE's "Reserve" button. - Apply via form
Submit your request using the form below for materials such as books and journals marked "Short-Term Loan" or "Library Use Only" that cannot be reserved on KULINE.
[For KU members only] Circulation Application Form (The Library of RIMS, Kyoto University)
The library will be open, but we will only be handling the pickup of reserved materials. You may not use the reading room or enter the Open Shelves.

From Monday, June 8, through Tuesday, June 16, we will be rearranging journal collections in the basement stacks.
Due to this work, access to foreign periodicals in the basement stacks will be restricted as follows.

If you would like to use these materials, please use the form below to make a hold request. We will inform you by email when the materials are ready.

In Commemoration of the Abel Prize: Exhibition of Books and Papers Related to Dr. Masaki Kashiwara” is being held.
To commemorate the awarding of the Abel Prize to Masaki Kashiwara, RIMS project professor and KUIAS program-specific professor, we will hold a special exhibition at Main Library and Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences Library.

Due to the construction work within the stacks, the use of some materials will be restricted on the following day.

Place: 2nd and 4th archives in the stacks

After receiving your application, we will make a decision on the purchase of the book depending on its necessity as a book for the Institute for Mathematical Analysis and on the budget situation. Please understand that it may take some time or we may not be able to meet your request. The Library will contact you when the book arrives or when the purchase is rejected.
