Research

H. Okamoto is working on numerical analysis and fluid mechanical problem. He has published papers on FEM, BEM, and a fundamental solution method. He also published in Japanese a textbook on functional analysis, a book on nonlinear mechanics, and a monograph on the Navier-Stokes equations. He also published a monograph written in English on the bifurcation of water-waves. Study of blow-up problems arising in fluid mechanics is an ongoing project. He is a member of the Mathematical Society of Japan, Japan SIAM, SIAM USA, Japan Society of Fluid Mechanics and has worked for these societies. His personal data can be read at his web site above.
