Research

Koji Ohkitani works in fluid mechanics on the basis of mathematical analysis, numerical computations and physical modelling. He is particularly interested in vortex dynamics as a foundation for turbulence theory. Current topics include: determination of the self-similar profile for the 3D Navier-Stokes equations, comparison of Navier-Stokes equations on the whole space and periodic domain, study of modified Navier-Stokes equations with depleted advection and interpolation of the Navier-Stokes and Burgers equations.
